Now and Zen was one of my very first original pieces. Walking east from Hendry's Beach (which is a popular locals hangout in Santa Barbara) the cliffs come down from the Douglas Preserve above and make for some incredible subject matter. I love the ocean and shoreline as it changes daily. As the tides come in and out, rocks are revealed or covered up. As the seasons change, there is more or less sand on the beach. The ocean always looks different depending on the wind, sky, and season. I will never get tired of painting the ocean and the coastline.
