The Sea Shell fleet has been a part of the Santa Barbara harbor for around 50 years. These little boats are made of plywood and are about 8 feet long. There is a club here in Santa Barbara - The Sea Shell Association, which gets together every weekend during the warmer months for sailing lessons and races. Mostly kids captain these little boats. I learned to sail in a Sea Shell that my dad bought in the early 60's. It was painted red. In the background, is the Santa Barbara wharf. |
