Anne West is a Santa Barbara, CA native who loves the challenge of rendering the horse in a playful, colorful way. She strives to accentuate the subtle colors that she sees and to create a sense of spirit and playfulness with her art.  Anne works primarily in acrylics. She is mostly self-taught, but has taken labs, classes, inspiration, advice, tips, and critique from her artist sister, Linda West, Stefan Baumann in the Bay Area, and local Santa Barbara painters John Grandfield, Alan Freeman, Linda Nelson, Kellie Straw, and Dorothy McKenzie. Anne lives and paints full time in Santa Barbara. She is a current Board Member of S.C.A.P.E. (Southern California Artists Painting for the Environment)
